சித்திரைத் திருவிழா போட்டிகள்– 2015

Please register for the competitions on or before 4/20/15.

குழந்தைகளுக்கான போட்டிகள்

1. வார்த்தை விளையாட்டு
2. Eligibility: Age: 9-15
   2. The kids will be put in to teams
   3. Each team has 4-5 kids max split equally by age among each team
   4. Total Rounds: 3
   5. Scores announced at the end of each round.
   6. Scores & winners are announced at the end of the game.

1. Round 1: சொல் தொடர்Word1 is given to the first team say A. Then It should be connected with related words by team B. Then goes to team C and then D. Similarly Word2 is given which follows the same pattern among team A, B, C & D.

Rule: word cannot be repeated with in a loop. Only related word can be answered.

The team can discuss but the captain has to answer after discussing with the team.

Points:  For each correct linked word 5 points are awarded to a team. And team gets 0 points for no try / time up & gets 1 point for wrong try. So max a team can get 20 points at the end of Round1.
Example :
Given a word say “tree” to team A, it has be linked by another word like “green” by team B and team C should not tell colors name instead try different word like “parrot” & team D for a linked word. That way it’s played 2 loops.

C. Round 2:  ஒரு தமிழ் சொல் கூறு

Each team is given 2 different & separate English words they have to translate to a single Tamil word. So totally five words for five teams.

Rule: Only one word can be answered in Tamil

Points:  For each correct word 5 points are awarded to a team. And team gets 0 points for wrong try / time up. So max a team can get 5 points at the end of Round2.

Example: “dad, mom” are two words given. They have to answer as ” பெற்றோர்”

and not “அப்பாஅம்மா “. One more – “Home, lesson” – “வீட்டுப்பாடம்”

1. Round 3: ஒரு நிமிட சுற்று!

For a one minute time limit, team has to translate as many English words to Tamil. Max of 10 words are given to each team under 1 minute limit.

Points:  For each correct word 1point is awarded to a team. And team gets 0 points for wrong try / time up. So max a team can get 10 points at the end of Round3.

2. பேச்சுப்போட்டி

விதிமுறைகள் :

1. தலைப்புகள்

– என் இந்தியப்பயணம்

– இந்தியாவில் குடும்ப விழா

– தாத்தா பாட்டி

– பண்டிகை கொண்டாட்டம்  (தீபாவளி, பொங்கல், Christmas etc )

2. பெற்றோர்கள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ள தலைப்புகளில் ஏதேனும் ஒன்றை தேர்ந்தெடுக்கவும்.

3. பேசும் நேரம் – 2 (அ ) 3 நிமிடங்கள்.,

4. குழந்தைகளை தங்கள் சொந்த கற்பனயில் ஆங்கிலத்தில் சொல்வதை தமிழாக்கம் செய்து மேடையில் பேசுமாறு அவர்களுக்கு பெற்றோர்கள் பயிற்சி அளிக்க விண்ணப்பிக்கிறோம்.

Note:

Participants will be grouped based on number of entries and participants Age.

3. படம் வரைதல்

Topic:  இந்தியக் கோவில்கள் or இந்தியப் பயணம்

Materials: Drawing should be made on the day in a sheet of

                              White chart paper (will be supplied)

                             Bring your own colors/ Pencils / Crayons / Sketches

                             No Water Colors

Fruit and Vegetable Carving Competition

RULES and GUIDELINES

1. This event is open to all registered contestants. No professional experience is required.
2. All contestants are required to produce one sculpture that are made entirely of fruits and/or vegetables. No flowers other than those sculpted of fruits/vegetables.
3. The piece is to be prepared ahead of time and brought to the event for display and judging.
4. All pieces are to be made of entirely edible food. No plastic supports in frames.
5. Added colors are acceptable.
6. Extra emphasis will be placed on the use of the natural shapes and colors of the fruit / vegetables and how they are used to support and enhance each other.
7. Judging will be based on a matrix that will consist of:

• General Presentation
• Artistic Ability of Contestant
• Balance
• Colors
• Sensibility of Presentation
• Precision of Cutting and Trimming
• Effective Spatial Use.
• Complexity of Design.
