2026 -செந்தமிழ் தேன்மொழியா(ள்)ல்
கடந்த ஜூலை 25,2026 சனிக்கிழமை அன்று ஆஸ்டின் தமிழ்ச் சங்கம் ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்த “செந்தமிழ்த் தேன்மொழியா(ள்)ல்” என்ற தமிழ் இலக்கிய நிகழ்வு, சிடார் பார்க் ரெக்ரியேசன் சென்டரில் சிறப்பாக நடந்தேறியது.
இந்த நிகழ்வின் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக இலக்கியச் சொற்பொழிவாளர், எழுத்தாளர், கவிஞர் எனப் பன்முக ஆளுமை கொண்ட மதிப்புறு முனைவர் திரு. தேவக்கோட்டை இராமநாதன் அவர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டு நிகழ்வைச் சிறப்பித்தார்.
தமிழ்த்தாய் வாழ்த்துடன் துவங்கிய நிகழ்வில், தமிழ்ச் சங்கத்தின் செயலாளர் திரு. இலியாஸ் அவர்கள் வரவேற்புரை நல்கினார்.
இரண்டு பாகங்களாக நடைபெற்ற இந்த நிகழ்வின் முதல் பாகத்தில், சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் மதிப்புறு முனைவர் திரு. தேவக்கோட்டை இராமநாதன் அவர்கள், “காலங்களில் அவன் வசந்தன்” என்ற தலைப்பில், கவியரசு கண்ணதாசன் அவர்களின் நூற்றாண்டடை நினைவு கூறும் வகையில் சிறப்புரை ஆற்றினார். கவிப்பேரரசு அவர்களின் திரையிசைப் பாடல்களில் பொதிந்திருக்கும் கவிதை நயம், தத்துவங்கள் மற்றும் வாழ்வியல் கூறுகளை, தனக்கே உரித்தான நகைச்சுவை உணர்வுடன் நயம்பட எடுத்துரைத்தது அனைவரையும் பெரிதும் கவரும் வகையில் அமைந்தது. சிறியவர் முதல் பெரியவர்கள் வரை அனைவரும் கரகோஷம் எழுப்பி, சிரித்து, ரசித்து மகிழ்ந்தனர். தமிழ்ச் சங்கம் சார்பில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினருக்கு நினைவுப்பரிசு வழங்கி கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டது.
நிகழ்வின் இரண்டாம் பாகத்தில், ஆஸ்டின் வாழ் தமிழ் பேச்சாளர்கள் பலரும் ஆர்வத்துடன் கலந்துகொண்டு, தமிழர் இலக்கியம் மற்றும் வாழ்வியல் சார்ந்த பல்வேறு தலைப்புகளில் உரையாற்றி, கவிதை பாடி நிகழ்வைச் சிறப்பித்தனர்.
- முதலில் திரு. சண்முகசுந்தரம் முத்தையன் அவர்கள், “தமிழ் இலக்கியம் சொல்லும் நல்லொழுக்கம்” என்ற தலைப்பில், தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ள அறம்சார்ந்த கருத்துகளைத் தொகுத்து, அவற்றை நாம் தற்கால வாழ்வியலில் நடைமுறைப்படுத்த வேண்டியதன் தேவையைச் சிறப்பாக விளக்கிப் பேசினார்.
- அடுத்ததாக திருமதி. சௌந்தர்யா பாலசுப்பிரமணியன் அவர்கள், “திருக்குறள் காட்டும் வாழ்வியல் பாதை” என்ற தலைப்பில், திருக்குறளின் கருப்பொருட்களை ஆய்ந்து செவ்வனே பட்டியலிட்டுச் சிறப்பாக உரை நிகழ்த்தினார்.
- அடுத்ததாக, பதினைந்து வயதிற்கு உட்பட்டோருக்கான பிரிவில் பங்கேற்ற ஒரே பேச்சாளரான செல்வி. வைசாலினி மோகன், “மனிதநேயம்” என்ற தலைப்பில் மழலை மாறாத குரலில் அழகான தமிழ் உச்சரிப்புடன் உரையாற்றி, கவிதை பாடி அனைவரையும் வியப்புக்குள்ளாக்கினார்.
- அதன் பின், ஏ.கே. என்கிற திரு. கார்த்திகேயன் அண்ணாமலை அவர்கள் “வாங்க ஓடலாம்” என்ற தலைப்பில், நாற்பது வயதிற்குப் பின் தான் எவ்வாறு ஓட்டப்பயிற்சியைத் தொடங்கி மாரத்தான் வீரராக மாறினார் என்ற அனுபவத்தைப் பகிர்ந்து, உடல் ஆரோக்கம் பேனும் அவசியத்தை விளக்கி அனைவரையும் ஓடுவதற்கு ஊக்கமூட்டினார்.
- பிறகு வந்த ஆஸ்டின் வாழ் கவிஞரும் எழுத்தாளருமான திரு. மீ. மணிகண்டன் அவர்கள், “கற்பனை” என்ற தலைப்பில் தான் இயற்றிய கவிதையைக் கவிநயத்துடன் பாடி, அனைவரின் உள்ளங்களையும் கவிதை மழையில் நனையச் செய்தார்.
- அடுத்ததாக திரு. ராம் சீனிவாசன் அவர்கள் “தமிழ் திரைப்படப் பாடல்களில் கவிதை” என்ற தலைப்பில், கவியரசு கண்ணதாசன் தொடங்கி விக்னேஷ் சிவன் வரையிலான திரையிசை கவிஞர்களின் பல்வேறு பரிமாணங்களை வாசித்து, பட்டியலிட்டு மகிழ்ந்து, மகிழ்வித்தார்.
- அடுத்ததாக வந்த திரு. மோகன் ராமானுஜம் அவர்கள், “தமிழ் ஹைகூ – இயற்கை, அறிவியல், வாழ்வியல்” என்ற தலைப்பில், ஹைகூ கவிதை வடிவின் வரலாற்றையும் வரையறையையும் விளக்கிப் பேசி, தான் இயற்றிய ஹைகூ கவிதையையும் பகிர்ந்து ரசிக்க வைத்தார்.
- அடுத்ததாக திருமதி. துர்கா பழனிச்சாமி அவர்கள் “அமெரிக்காவில் தமிழ் சமூகத்தின் பலம்” என்ற தலைப்பில், புலம்பெயர்ந்து வாழும் தமிழர்கள் ஒற்றுமையுடன் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் உதவியாக இருந்து, பொருளாதாரம் மற்றும் வாழ்க்கை தரத்தை எப்படி உயர்த்திக்கொள்ள இயலும் என்பதை கருத்துபட விளக்கினார்.
- அடுத்ததாக வந்த திருமதி. சாரு கண்ணன் அவர்கள் “தேசபக்தி” என்ற தலைப்பில், இந்திய சுதந்திரப் போராட்ட வீரர்கள் பலரை பட்டியலிட்டு நினைவு கூர்ந்து, தேசபக்தியின் அவசியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்துச் சரவெடியெனப் பேசி அமர்ந்தார்.
- பிறகு வந்த திரு. திருநாவுக்கரசு சுவாமிநாதன் அவர்கள் “தமிழோடு வாழும் என் அடையாளம்” என்ற தலைப்பில், தனது பதின் பருவ நண்பனின் “ஈழ” உணர்நினைவு துவங்கி் தமிழ் மீதான தனது ஈர்ப்பை, காதலை , தெடர்பை மற்றும் அனுபவங்களைச் சுவைபடத் தனது அழகு தமிழில் அள்ளித் தெளித்துச் சென்றார்.
- இறுதியாக வந்த திருமதி. செல்வி சண்முகசுந்தரம் அவர்கள் “தமிழ் பேசும் வீடு – பண்பாடு வாழும் வீடு” என்ற தலைப்பில், கூரையும் சுவரும் கலந்து உருவாகும் “வீடு” எப்படி பண்பாடும், மொழியும், உறவுகளும் சேர்ந்து “குடும்பம்” ஆக உருப்பெறுகிறது என்பதை விளக்கி, வீடுகளில் தமிழ் ஓங்கி ஒலிக்க வேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்தார்.
நிகழ்வில் பங்கேற்ற பேச்சாளர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் ஆஸ்டின் தமிழ்ச்சங்கம் சார்பில் சான்றிதழும் நினைவுப்பரிசும் வழங்கப்பட்டது. நிகழ்வு நடந்தேறிய அரங்கின் ஒரு பகுதியில் அமைந்திருந்த ஆஸ்டின் தமிழ்ச் சங்கப் புத்தக அரங்கு வந்திருந்தவர்கள் பலரின் கவனத்தையும் ஈர்த்தது. பலரும் புத்தகங்களை விரும்பி வாங்கிச் சென்றனர். நிகழ்வின் சிற்றுண்டி இடைவெளியின் போது ஆஸ்டின் தமிழ்ச்சங்கத்தின் புரவலர்கள் (sponsors) அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

தமிழ்சங்க நிர்வாகிகள், தன்னார்வலர்கள் பலரும் நிகழ்வு சிறப்பாக நடக்க உதவிகளை நல்கினர். தமிழ்ச் சங்கத் தலைவர் திரு. சிதம்பரம் அவர்கள் நன்றியுரை நல்க, விழா சிறப்புடன் நிறைவுற்றது.
On Saturday, July 25, 2026, the Austin Tamizh Sangam organized a Tamizh literary event titled “Senthamizh Thenmozhiyal” at the Cedar Park Recreation Center.
The event was graced by the presence of the distinguished guest, Dr. Devakottai Ramanathan—a multifaceted personality known as a literary orator, writer, and poet.
The event commenced with the Tamizh Thai Vazhthu followed by a welcome address delivered by Mr. Ilias, the Secretary of the Tamizh Sangam.
The event was conducted in two parts:
In the first part, the special guest, Dr. Devakottai Ramanathan, delivered a keynote address titled “Kaalangalil Avan Vasanthan” (He is the Spring of All Seasons) to commemorate the centenary of the legendary poet Kaviarasu Kannadasan. He eloquently highlighted the poetic beauty, philosophical depth, and life lessons embedded in the poet’s film lyrics, all while infusing his presentation with his signature sense of humor—a style that captivated the entire audience. Attendees of all ages—from children to adults—applauded, laughed, and thoroughly enjoyed the session. On behalf of the Tamizh Sangam, the special guest was honored with a memento.
In the second part of the event, several Tamizh speakers residing in Austin enthusiastically participated, delivering speeches and reciting poetry on various topics related to Tamizh literature and the Tamizh way of life.
- First, Mr. Shanmugasundaram Mutthaiyan spoke on the topic “Tamizh Ilakkiyam Sollum Nallozhukkam” (Virtues Taught by Tamizh Literature). He eloquently summarized the ethical concepts found in Tamizh literary works and emphasized the importance of incorporating these values into our contemporary lives.
- Next, speaking on the topic “Thirukkural Kaattum Vaazhviyal Paadhai” (The Path of Life Shown by Thirukkural), Mrs. Soundarya Balasubramanian delivered an excellent speech, having meticulously analyzed and outlined the core themes of the Thirukkural.
- Next, the sole speaker in the under-18 category, Ms. Vaishalini Mohan, amazed the audience by speaking on the topic “Humanity” with beautiful Tamizh pronunciation and a charming, youthful voice, and by reciting a poem.
- Following that, Mr. A.K. (Karthikeyan Annamalai) shared his personal journey of taking up running after the age of forty and becoming a marathon runner; he explained the importance of maintaining physical health and encouraged everyone to take up running.
- Then, Mr. Me. Manikandan, a poet and writer based in Austin, recited a poem he had composed on the theme of “Imagination” with great poetic flair, immersing the audience in a poetic experience.
- Next, Mr. Ram Srinivasan spoke on the topic “Poetry in Tamizh Film Songs,” delighting the audience by highlighting the diverse facets of lyricists ranging from Kaviarasu Kannadasan to Vignesh Shivan.
- Subsequently, Mr. Mohan Ramanujam spoke on “Tamizh Haiku – Nature, Science, and Life,” explaining the history and definition of the Haiku poetic form and sharing his own Haiku compositions for the audience to enjoy.
- Next, Mrs. Durga Palanisamy spoke on “The Strength of the Tamizh Community in America,” illustrating how expatriate Tamizhs can uplift their economic status and quality of life by standing united and supporting one another.
- Next, Mrs. Charu Kannan spoke passionately on the topic of “Patriotism.” She listed and honored numerous Indian freedom fighters and articulated the importance of patriotism in a spirited and dynamic address.
- Following her, Mr. Thirunavukkarasu Swaminathan spoke on the topic “My Identity Lives with Tamizh.” He eloquently shared his journey—beginning with memories of a teenage friend’s sentiments regarding Eelam—and vividly described his attraction to, love for, and personal experiences with the Tamizh language.
- Finally, Mrs. Selvi Shanmugasundaram spoke on the topic “A Tamizh-Speaking Home is a Home Where Culture Thrives.” She explained how a physical structure of roofs and walls transforms into a “family” through the blending of culture, language, and relationships, and emphasized the importance of making the Tamizh language resonate within our homes.
Certificates and mementos were presented to all the speakers on behalf of the Austin Tamizh Sangam. The Austin Tamizh Sangam’s book stall, set up at the venue, attracted the attention of many attendees, with numerous people purchasing books. During the refreshment break, the Sangam expressed its gratitude to all the event sponsors.
Ms. Pugazhini served as the event’s excellent moderator.
Many Sangam office bearers and volunteers contributed to the event’s success. The program concluded on a high note with a vote of thanks delivered by the Austin Tamizh Sangam President, Mr. Chidambaram.
